Nitro RC cars are taking over the industry. Yes, you can go to the local toy store and purchase any remote control car that runs using batteries and you will likely spend very little money. However, you will also get very little performance. RC cars are not just for kids. Many adults are making this into a wonderfully fun hobby. Whether you are a new hobbyist or have always been a fan of RC cars, nitro is the way to go!
Nitro RC cars run on a special fuel mixture. They are often misrepresented as running on gas. The truth is that you cannot just go to the local gas station and fill up your remote control car. The mixture is made of oil, methanol, and nitro methane. This means that you will have to specially order fuel, but it is worth the little bit of extra effort.
There are many benefits to the nitro RC car that battery operated versions cannot compare to. If you want an RC car that truly performs, then you need to go with nitro. The first several times you run your nitro car, you may feel slightly disappointed with the performance, but it is simply because the car needs time to be broken in. Once this short period is over, the nitro RC car runs faster (think 75 mph on some vehicles) and smoother than their battery operated counterparts.
There are nitro versions of all different vehicles. There are cars made specifically for off-road and others made for the street. There are cars that will run well both on and off road. There are buggies and even helicopters. There are few limits when it comes to nitro RC cars.
Remote control cars are great because they can be recharged. The problem is that they constantly need to be recharged. A single gallon of fuel will refuel a nitro RC car for several hours before needing to be refilled.
The most important thing for you to remember when you first purchase your new nitro RC car is to carefully read the instruction manual. Yes, we know that you are completely competent and can manage to run your new toy on your own however you need to learn how to clean, maintain, upgrade, and tune your new toy as well. It would be a shame to ruin a brand new and expensive nitro RC car simply because you chose not to read the manual.
The most important thing is to have fun with your new nitro RC car. It is a wonderful hobby that can be shared with family and friends and provide hours of fun. With so many options available, it may be difficult to choose just one vehicle, but eventually maybe you will be able to try every nitro RC car!

Dan Knowls loves all RC vehicles. If it flies, skim on water or has tires, he’s probably raced it. You can read more about the world of RC at RC Ferret, and pick up one these engineering marvels for your own at the RC Store
try electric brushless engines to drift.. Anyway, nice drifting
you have to have good timing on when you start counter-steerinng or else you will lose traction
Scale is not an issue unless you plan to race. Then you will need the right scale car or truck to compete in each particular class. For example: You cannot race 1/8 nitro buggies against 1/10 electric buggies. The scales aren't the same. the speeds are different. The 1/10 will get knocked around pretty bad. 1/8 scales race against 1/8 scales. 1/10 vs. 1/10, and so on.
If you are only out having fun, then buy whatever you want and can afford. But the most important thing is to have fun!
one your going from a toy class into a hobby class, nitro isnt a toy, these cars can go anywhere from about 20mph up to and over 100 mph
they are faster, touchy, and really test skills of a driver, there are some electirc cars thats are as fast if not faster! the faster R/C in the world today is in fact ran on batteries. check out http://www.towerhobbies.com you will see,
From my understanding you need to refuel these car every 5 to 10 minutes depending on the tank size and the way they are driven and yes this is a very expensive hobby to get into and as for miles per gallon, I dont think that they concern themselves with that…………….
try on…
Thanks!
Please ignore the first two guys. They have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE what they are talking about. That being said, tower hobbies is probably the most popular online hobby shop. They usually have the best prices and selection, too. However, don't forget to check out your local hobby shop. The nearest worthwhile hobby shop in my neck of the woods is an hour away, but sometimes worth the drive. Average speed is 35-55 mph for 2WD stadium truck, about 40 for most buggies and truggies, 35-45 for most popular monster trucks, upwards of 60 or 70 for touring cars. Keep in mind that these figures are for the BONE STOCK, not modified in any way, ready to run vehicles. Do yourself a favor and at least check out the traxxas rustler vxl. Its electric, but just take a look.
Nice!! Try practicing at a bigger place, so u can get the trick of the turns!!
I am learning to drift in a nitro rc either. try not to require to0 much from your engine, or it will break son!!
You've asked this question before, and had several replies. You are going to have to be able to buy in bulk before you can be competitive in the pricing game.
cool!
Yes, there are some who do. How you find them is by going to the local track and meeting them.
Nitro.
Love the smell and noise.
Almost all internal combustion glow plug ignition hobby engines use methanol with varying percentages of nitromethane. Synthetic castor oil is mixed in for lubrication. The more nitromethane the more expensive and powerful the fuel is. Gasoline powered model engines are usually much larger and have spark plug ignition systems and look like chainsaw or weed-eater engines. The gasoline is mixed with oil for lubrication. So you can almost always tell what fuel is used by the ignition system.
L&N nut
Nice drift
nitro drifting is hard and you will destroy a lot of engines… try electric, you don’t need the best chassis to drift (actually, the best choice IMO is the tamiya TT-01, in fact a cheap car). Just buy some upgrades (oil shocks, some ergal parts and ball bearings, a 15 turns motor) and you have the best drift rc car ever
Sorry for my english^^
NOOB
I wouldn't recommend either of those. I think for the best for your buck giving you good quality would be Ofna.
