RC car toys are popular, but they have managed to somehow stay under most people’s’s radars, which is sad, because they are a lot of fun. RC stands for radio controlled, that means that the cars are managed by way of a controller connected wirelessly to the vehicle itself.
essentially, while this article is going to focus on RC cars, there are RC planes, RC choppers, RC boats, RC submarines and even RC tanks and RC bulldozers. Essentially, if it moves, someone has taken the time to miniaturize it and adapt it for radio control.
RC car toys come in a variety of price ranges and levels of complexity. You can get miniscule double AA battery powered automobiles with extremely simple controls or cars with gas engines that cost thousands of bucks, and everything in between so there are RC cars for any level of interest.
If you really become an RC enthusiast, there are numerous RC racing leagues around, where you can put your car up against others in races. This is a cool sport, in that you get to have the excitement of racing and driving fast with no risk of injury.
The cars are also awfully customizable, so you can make the automobiles do more or less whatever you like. In truth, a large amount of the automobiles you will find in RC racing leagues are fully custom built, unique designs. There are tons of hobby stores, both bricks and mortar and on the internet, where you can purchase parts to build an auto that’s 100 p.c your design.
This is actually a good thing, although you may not want to tell your youngsters, because you’ve got an opportunity for some stealth education. Coming up with and building an RC vehicle is a way to be in a position to spend some time with your youngsters, and it could be a great way to teach practical abilities at the same time.
In general, RC car toys are a cool alternative to Nintendo games and other indoor activities, and there are tons of resources available to help you get into the sport professionally, or simply to have some jollies.

Help answer the question about gas powered remote control cars
Gas Powered Remote Control Car Question?I have an old Team Losi XXX-NT Sport gas powered car, and for some reason it takes a lot more gas than it used to, it drains the gas a lot faster. I am running the car pretty lean and it is not idling than high either. Why is sucking up so much gas. How do I allow it to have longer running time, ive tried leaning it out more and turned down the idling needle so it doesnt idle that high.

I cannot see any way that you could use a cell phone to control an RC car. The cell phone operates in a completely different way to the radio control of an RC car.
It would be possible to have a cell phone in the car, controlled from another cell phone. It would also need a microcomputer in the car to translate the cell phone outputs to actions in the car. The calling cell phone would need a computer of some kind to translate commands too. Some cell phones (or cell phone modules) can be used as modems to transfer commands as serial signals like the serial port on a PC. Hardly seems worth it.

omg that's too cute!! Well first off, it's gonna be a cardboard box (a big one) because he's going to have to wear it. My son was a box of Band-Aids one year and I made that costume from scratch out of a big warehouse box that I had. What I did first was I found a box to be the "base" of the costume. You want to fit the box to your child, cut the head/arm holes and decorate last. You can add other smaller different size boxes to get the shape that you want. Coffee cans for tires (painted black of course) White paper plates for the headlight/eyes, etc. You'd be amazed at the things you can find around your house to use for a costume. Toilet paper/paper towel rolls for tail pipes (spray painted silver) You could really go to town!! To get more of a triangular look for base you could use a flatter box for the body and then bend a flat piece of cardboard into a "V" shape and attatch that to the front of the car for a more sporty look. Things like that. I know the RC car was a light blue color (I think) Just pay attention to detail on the what the car looks like and try to copy that onto the costume!

If it's picking up a very weak signal from a TV remote or IR source located elsewhere yes. For the batteries sake I'd just shut it off. It's not harmful but it sometimes happens.
